How far in advance do you enter?

Apologies as I'm sure this has been asked before but, how far in advance do you enter competitions? I'm a new comper and have currently worked my way through entering everything (that takes my fancy) up to Feb 11th. I was just wondering if people had more luck entering well in advance or entering the day before the competition is due to end etc?

I enter as they are posted on the board (I have cleared the full board - and now only have to enter what gets posted) ... and win plenty

It doesn't really matter when you enter - you just have to be the 1st person picked at random from all the entries

I'm usually quite busy, so my usual tactic is to sort the board by end date and enter any that are finishing the next day as not to miss anything. If I have time I will then go to the newly posted and if I a super organised I start entering the end of month comps as there's so many!! I win a fair amount.

If the competition is truly random - it shouldn't matter!

I enter when they are listed, I'm up to date to about the most recent 10 pages to do this morning.

I can't keep up with the amount of comps that are posted so I usually enter everything a couple of days before it ends. If I see anything I'd really like though I enter it no matter what the end date is.

I enter as they are posted, but I bookmark Twitter comps and enter those just before they're about to end and I find I'm more successful with Twitter comps when I do that.

I won Dorothy Perkins "tweetItWinIt" comp by entering last( about ten minutes before the end- only because it was on my twitter feed, hadn't comped all day because I was ill) and won. have tried that tactic many times since on twitter comps with no joy.
