1st 1k of debt cleared

iv cleared my 1st 1k off my credit cards now only have 7k more left. but Hay what a great feeling and this has encourged me to go on and on! iv done it through selling things on ebay, betting, and moving move from one card to another. so ok some would say iv not cleared 1k but iv moved £400 from my hsbc card (22.9%) to my halifax card (15.9%) so thats saying me about £20 a month intrest repayments!

    Well done!

Have you tried phoning the Hallifax and asking if they have a better rate? I called all my CC's when I was on my DF mission and Capital One and Barclaycard slashed the rates.

    Worth a quick call.

    a better interest rate.

I phoned and said I was doing a bit of financial housekeeping and asked my APR. Although I knew what it was I acted shocked/surprised and said I was disappointed as I was happy with the card (another little white lie, but hey!) and could they do anything about the rate as I was a happy customer but I'd have to consider moving elsewhere unless they could reduce it.

Mint/RBS said no. Barclaycard and Capital One made huge reductions.
