Question on questionable terms

I've just entered a Timeout London competition which required me to forward the competition on to a friend. Fair enough I've seen this before, usually it's not necessary and it's just a way for them to nudge you to share it... but this time it was mandatory. Again, I've seen this a few time so wasn't alarmed, I just shared it with my BF.

Now after sharing, I'm told that my entry will not be valid unless my friend enters with my link.... ??? This doesn't seem right to me, does anyone know if it's legal or not?

Yes they can do that (should really be in the blurb or T&C's)
  • It's their competition. They can set their own terms I guess. Then its up to individuals whether to enter or not
