NHS redundancy query/security of band 6/7

Hi,
I have been offered a FT post at my old NHS trust. I worked there for many years but left to be closer to home (I had young children at the time). My current job was centralised further away and I have found the commute horrendous (a lot worse than where I was before).
As NHS trusts are struggling, and I have been made aware that a lot of band 8's have been given notice recently, I am worried that the CEO will work down the ranks and get rid of so many grades of staff. I have 20 years continuous service but would be classed as 'new' at the trust (even though I worked there before). It is a band 6 job. If there were redundancies (hopefully, there won't be at that grade as they are short staffed anyway) where would I stand with redundancy if I had less than 2 years service with them?
Also, I have an interview with the same trust/same department for a band 7 post. Since this has come to light I am having cold feet about the band 7 as I feel I would be on risky ground and band 7's will end up doing more management work. The band 7 post comes with better hours which suit me being a mum.
Should I stick with the 6 and hope things work out? Would I be at risk of no redundancy payment with a new trust?

Band 8, despite being 1 up from a 7, is actually is very different position.
I wouldn't worry about band 8's being made redundant and given notice.
Many are temporary employees anyway (or at least at my trust they are)0 -
Is your service continuous in the NHS and the new post NHS
the rules are in A4C0 -
Yes, continuous service for the full 20 years.Interest rate 1.25%, offset mortgage Woolwich0

Are they telling you you can't have continuity or are you assuming it?0

I can have continuity but I am not sure whether this still protects me. I think it does but I will have to check the AFC T&C's.Interest rate 1.25%, offset mortgage Woolwich0

What protection are you thinking of?
No one is safe from redundancy and the continuity should give you a payout on the NHS A4C terms.0
