in Cutting tax
I need to check 2 things.
1.
When you fill in a tax return online via the HMRC website, does the software work out the amount due?
Is this immediate? i.e. if I submit the tax return over this week, will it tell me what needs to be paid by Sunday?
2. Does it automatically calculate payments on account and also take into account previous payments on account that may have been made? Or is this something that I need to keep tabs on.

1. Agreed
2. When I did mine last week, the website stated it would be 72hrs before my account would be updated. Within that time, my accountwas updated so that payments to date etc were taken into account and the correct balance due on 31/1 was shown.
