Had a financial heart attack yesterday...

..but may have found a solution.
Okay, I'm in a dmp. We all know we're not supposed to have an overdraft on a dmp. I thought it was for about £7-800.
Looked at the whole in the wall, 0ver£1300!!
Also, looked into my ' other account'( if I can put a few quid away , I will ) . That was almost £10 overdrawn. Never happened before in that account .

So, yesterday while I was talking to my brother over breakfast, he told me how useless I am with money . He admitted he is a miser, but I was feeling low and almost jealous.

So, I'm worrying like crazy all night. Then , I thought of something.
Put my rarest bass guitar up for sale. Hell, even put another two up for sale also.
Then I thought; I don't play vinyl anymore , so I put my turntable up for sale.
Then I looked at the rarest record I have, and decided to list it at a starting price of £280. I saw some of the prices it stole for in the past, and listed it at a lower starting price.
Just spoke to someone, and we've agreed a sale on my bass(£1300).
It was on and off for sale at around£1700 , but it's a vuyers market and times are hard.
Wish me luck.
If I can clear overdraft , then maybe I can relax and try very hard to live within my means.( it's mainly expensive food ,as I am allergic to most veg & salad).
If I keep that going , then maybe I can afford to live where I am for another few years at least .
Just awaiting phone call to confirm guy picking up bass and giving me cash ;) will be sorry to see it go;(
Cheers

It's sad when you do it but you do feel better about it. Think of it this way. You can buy another one anytime but right now getting debt free is the best thing. Keep up this enthusiasm and you might save enough for f&fs offers? If you do make any money on this, ie sell more than the guitar then ask your brother to keep it safe? And cancel the overdraft. Well done for seeing what your priorities are :)
    Loan 1 £5200/£8000
    Loan 2 £300/£5800
    Total £5500/£13800

    Hi,

Try not to be too hard on your self.

People who were "good with money" (or otherwise described as tight) when I was younger, were always billy no mates, for some reason ?

I always had lots of girlfriends so I always felt better off lol !!!

  • Thanks kitten , and Sourcrates .
It had to be done. I didn't mention I owe my brothers and one sister almost 3 grand combined.
However, when my mums house gets sold, I'll immediately pay them back.
I may treat myself to a rare bass again .
News I have ; meeting someone to collect £370 for iron maiden single
Also during week, meeting someone to collect £1300 for fender telecaster bass.
Turntable has been withdrawn , as I still have a fair bit of vinyl left, plus it looks cool.i was gonna get a turntable when I get money from mums house, but don't need to.
When I talk to Payplan probably next week, it won't show on the statements I send them , but they will be told the overdraft has gone .

    Cheers
