Yes I have tried that - I work in Moss Side (princess road) and it takes two hours to get in that way. Have to get bus from piccadilly and during rush hour its a nightmare. I am on flexi so better to get in for eightish in morning.
Takes me at moment just under an hour.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
Is the £25-40 per week for food just for you (and your daughter when she's there)? You could probably cut this back if you wanted by buying more value stuff, reduced items and bulk buying. I'm on my own and spend about £50-60 a month, plus one or two 'bought' lunches a week at work, and still eat pretty well. I wouldn't suggest cutting back drastically but even £10-20 a month would be a bit of money that could go elsewhere.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Hi Mae, thats ok, there are a lot of women out there who for some reason or another have not got residency of custody of there children.
My ex was a control freak and still to this day has done some awful things. I also buy my daughter clothes sometimes when she is with me for a weekend and take her on holiday also. I suppose in the past I have been spending too much on her. I had depression and could not fight for my daughter five years ago.
Anyway more advice please?
Sounds like you are in constant and regular touch with your daughter though and I hope you have a good relationship. You're right re lots of women not having custody of their children. My nephews mum does not bring him up so I think I only assumed coz it is easy to assume things with limited info on these forums. Sounds like you are back in control now after your controlling ex and you are so on the right track re the finances and I think that is the foundation of sorting most peoples lives for the better. So good luck and keep up with the good work.0
