Bankruptcy Questions

  • I got two basic accounts before nationwide and Barclays. You will have to declare these in your forms and then once bankrupt the OR will ask you which account you plan to use and then they will write to them stating they have no interest in the account ( only if the account is not in debt ). Barclays closed mine but nationwide didn't. I also opened a basic Yorkshire bank account after bankruptcy.

You seem to have answers to virtually all your questions. On this:
Which lender for a mortgage has the least wait time after bankcruptcy regardless of depsoit?

You need a combination of decent deposit/ good credit rating/ provable income.

At the moment you have 0 out of 3.

If/ when you get a job with sufficient income to get the mortgage you want, you then need a deposit. That is going to be a post bankruptcy build up of funds or bank of mum/dad. By then you will have started to build up a better credit rating.

A mortgage broker could help you find a lender prepared to consider you after discharge, but the interest rate and/or arrangement fee will be higher than standard.
