Don't waste your time, there are plenty HGV drivers out of work right now. I'm one of them with 10 years experience.
I've looked at learning a trade (no work apparently), various driving jobs (poor pay), HGV (no work you say), office/admin type jobs (poor pay plus seem to need a degree or 101 other qualifications to get through the door).
I mean the list is endless doesn't seem like there are any good jobs to get into anyway (if people such as yourself are to be believed).0 -
As I say SRG, it easier in the south east, but in Cheshire where the OP is, it shouldn't be that difficult.
My two young lads will earn around 40k this year - not bad for their age, no degree. yes, there was a degree of luck that they managed to get taken on here, but they were out working elsewhere until they found something better, and crucially once they started, they turned out to be good drivers - that's the driving, keeping the paperwork right and nice with the customers - so they stayed.0 -

No. You need obviously to make sure your digi card is up to date, make print outs if necessary. After that, it's keeping the daily defect reports,and whatever paperwork you are delivering on. Beause we run a mixed fleet of vans and trucks, we have a sheet to cover if they aren't on tacho and also doubles up for the WTD sheet.
Half the companies have electronic PoDs ( proofs of delivery ) anyway. I just want paperwork to arrive back on my desk instead of chasing it and for it not to look like it was under the load!;).0
