Multiple Entry Mobile Phone Comps question ...

I don't often switch on my mobile and am wondering if this would lessen my chances of winning. i.e. when a winner is notified, if you don't respond quickly, will the prize maybe be offered to someone else?
Could someone who's won one of these comps. advise how they're notified please as it might give a good idea if it's worth spending some considerable time entering these!

The Majority of them only ask for your name and mobile number so if entering them I would keep my phone on at all times cos they can't contact you any other way0

Thanks. I wonder if they leave a message if your 'phone is off, or if they just move on and offer the prize to another person who answers their 'phone?Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0

If you're talking about the multiple entry radio competitions, they are normally looking for an "instant" winner to bring on air, so I presume if you don't answer your phone they will just move on to the next person. I won one of these a couple of months ago, it closed at 6pm and the DJ called my mobile at 6:11pm and put me right on air, as the "giveaway" was linked to his show. It's not a case of a winner being drawn behind the scenes and then someone from the office attempting to get hold of them; they want to promote the competition on the show.
My advice would be to take a note of the closing time and have your phone turned on around then, as it's an extremely quick turnaround, not like some comps where they say they will contact winner within 28 days!0 -
As cagsd says, for the Bauer Radio comps you have to answer when they call or they move on to someone else.
ie. The winner is not the first person they call, but the first person who answers
Examples from some of the T&C:The winner will be an entrant that answers the phone within approximately 30 seconds.Make sure to answer your phone within 5 ringsThe constraints of time may mean that we will proceed to the next caller if any caller does not answer our call promptly for any reason: we will have no liability to any caller who fails to answer our call promptly and who is as a result passed over in favour of another competitor.0
