My son was hoping for an Ipod Nano for his 9th birthday in a couple of weeks. I searched online and the cheapest I could find them was approx £100. Thankfully I didn't buy one at that price because when I was in Waitrose (Cheltenham) yesterday they had them for £49.99 which is the lowest price I have ever seen them at. It is apparently because they are the 'old' colours so it's only available at that price on silver, pink and red - they said they had quite a lot of stock in all those colours - I went for the silver one which is exactly the same as the one available on the John Lewis website for £119 here:http://www.johnlewis.com/store/apple-ipod-nano-16gb/p231745342?colour=Silver&navAction=jump&_requestid=2940840
Not sure if this is nationwide or restricted to the Cheltenham branch. It may be that it's in larger Waitrose branches that have electronics departments.
Hope this helps someone.

My missus lost her Ipod on the bus, which sadly was not handed in. I have been on the Waitrose Website but it is not showing, and I have phoned Sheffield Waitrose, who have not had the ipod for about a year now, so maybe it is just your local one. At that price I would pay them extra to post it me!!0

Hi palflat - I just spoke to the Cheltenham branch, unfortunately they aren't able to take payment by phone or post items out but think that the price is centrally applied so if you have a large branch near you with an electrical department, they should have them there at £49.99 but it would be a matter of checking stock in each individual branch.0

Investigated a Waitrose Food & Home store: these are available for £49.99, originally £79.99.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
