PCM Private parking firm

Hi,
I received a parking charge from PCM (parking control management) a private parking company. Outside the front of the block of flats where I used to live there is a restricted area which allows no parking, however you often get delivery vans, taxis etc stopping there (as there is nowhere else to park). When I moved out of the flat, I parked in this restricted area for approx 2 hours to move some of my furniture.
Theres is a visitors office for the block of flats, so before I parked I asked for permission from from the office, they said it was no problem and unlocked the gate so I could park in the restricted area.
Since I received the parking charge I contacted the woman who gave me permission explaining the charge, she agreed it was incorrect and passed it onto the property management company who also agreed it was incorrect for me to get the fine. Since then I still got letters from the PCM company to requesting I pay the charge. I complained through their website and refused to pay but it was rejected as they had not been given prior notice for me parking there.
Can you please give me information on what you suggest I should do? I would be very grateful for any advice.

Did you read 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' at the top of the forum? You can ignore debt collector letters but not a court claim so watch out, in case. You do need to read the sticky thread to understand this is an IPC firm where there was no chance of appealing & winning.
Why haven't the Management Company got it cancelled, what happened when you rattled their cage, again and again and again? DO IT AGAIN!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

get the MA to get the charge cancelled, otherwise they will have to tell you what dates they are availble to go to court as witnesses for the defence, because you had their de facto permission from one of their "agents" who also gave to access too
if they want it to go away, they will tell their "dogs" to do one and cancel it
also try to get a signed witness statement from this agent and the MA too in your favour, supporting your version of events, keep it safe for 6 years in case the PPC is moronic enough to try a court claim0 -

As Redx says, get the MA to sort it. The permission there is called promissory estoppel and kills any legal challenge that PCM could make - though it won't stop them from quoting from their little book of fantasy law. As PCM said on the BBC investigation ...'We'll tell them anything to get paid".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. (@ both posters): make yourselves a thorn in the side of the Managing Agents and see which one of you can get the stupid 'charges' cancelled first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
