Debt collectors call for someone else

Good evening all.
I have a slightly different question on calls from debt collection agents.
I've no problem debt myself (all payments always on time). However, I do get calls from various debt collectors, always asking for one of two people (same surname); I've never heard of them outside of these calls and as far as I am aware they have never been associated with either this phone number or address. When I explain this to the caller it generally stops the calls from that company, though sometimes I have to repeat myself. I've never had any mail addressed for them, nor people calling at the house.
I have two questions please:
1) How worried should I be that my home-land line is connected to someone else's debt(s)?
2) Is there any way of breaking the link?
Thanks, Mark.

You can break the link by changing your landline number. It may be the person who previously had the number ran up some debts....they may have moved and paid on time for years and then at some point years later stopped paying causing them to ring the number they have on record which has now been recycled and you have the number.
It's nothing to worry about.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
