not following instructions or bots?

I have noticed that an increasing number of twitter comps are now asking you to like as well asRT, but in every case recently only about half the number of RTs are shown as number of likes, so I was wondering if the bot probelm is worse than I thought or are people just not reading what they are retweeting?

I'm finding the bots a real problem, every day I'm having to block them and who would believe i had to block Eric Cantona lol. I always like the tweets.

I block everyone who retweets my comp retweets.

Is the Eric Cantona real? It keeps tweeting my tweets even some personal ones but I notice they do win a fair amount including a £100 love2shop voucher... Some accounts are obviously fake and bots yet promoters still choose them as a winner even if not doing what is needed..

Lots say RT FOLLOW AND TELL US or REPLY and they don't. But win!

I think that a lot of people are not reading what they are retweeting. When it was a star symbol and called 'favourite', you were seldom asked to favourite a tweet, but now it is a heart symbol and called 'like' you seem to be asked to do this more and more. It would be interesting to see if when they choose a winner, if the winner has liked as requested and not just retweeted.

There are so many of these bots i just block them all

Twitter needs to do more to remove them, they should check ip adresses etc

I think these are all the same person, there are a lot more with the same kind of name

There should be an option to report multiple account, twitter then finds out if they are the same ip address, then stop them from opening more accounts

Blocking them doesn't stop them retweeting you, it just stops you getting the notification.

I've recently changed tactic - if they've RT'ed me, I go on their TL, find the tweet and reply to it, including their @name & @company that's running the competition, and I put <<< is a bot that auto retweets anything with 'win' in. (or giveaway or whatever their trigger word is). A couple of companies have thanked me, and I'm getting less bots retweeting me - maybe they blocked me
