Mortgage Payment Protection reclaim?? (or not as the case may be)

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this as I am very confused and not sure where to start let alone if there's even a case to answer!
When purchasing the property I currently live in back in 2007 I was in full time employment at a company paying sick pay for 6 months.
I remember the conversation about mortgage payment protection coming up with the mortgage advisor at the estate agents and being wet behind the ears took her up on her offer to arrange it.
I've not since reviewed it and have been paying £25 pound a month since.
My questions are:
- Is there a case here?
- If so who do I get in touch with? The estate agent or FirstAssist (the company the policy is currently with)
Any help much appreciated
Cheers
Dave

How would you pay your mortgage if you were ill for more than 6 months (6 months full or SSP?) or lost your job? Why do you feel this cover was not suitable?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The fact that you had a job shows that you could lose it. Therefore the unemployment benefits that the plan paid were of use to you unless you were already aware of a specific risk of redundancy when you took it out - but if that was the case it is unlikely you would have been offered the mortgage.Sweeneybhoy wrote: »When purchasing the property I currently live in back in 2007 I was in full time employment at a company paying sick pay for 6 months.
The fact that you got 6 months sick pay does not indicate that the policy was unsuitable. As Nasqueron says, you could be ill for more than six months.
In addition, you do not tell us how much sick pay you would get. It might just be Statutory Sick Pay. If so, you would struggle to maintain a mortgage on it.

You might want to see if more cost effective cover is available or you might want to look at income if you became long term sick or could never work again.Sweeneybhoy wrote: »I've not since reviewed it and have been paying £25 pound a month since.
A local IFA should be able to help with this.
You have not given any evidence that points to a missale/Sweeneybhoy wrote: »My questions are:
