Balance transfer a personal loan?

Is it possible to transfer a personal loan onto a 0% credit card?

RBS say they won't do it but make no reference to it in their small print (which I have poured over).

If I know the redemption figure and banking details why can't it be done?

Does anyone know the answer? Or better still a way round it??!

Fingers crossed.

The majority of balance transfers require a 16 digit credit card code.
However some cards allow BT to your current a/c from where you can pay off the loan. e.g. MBNA stable of cards and eggmoney allow this.

Just transfer the money into your normal account, then pay it from there.

It is an indirect BT which is entirely acceptable.
  • Yup, or request BT cheques and pay them a cheque. I did to Barclayloan from Marbles.

Probably easier to pay it into your current account as you can probabaly do it over the phone.

if your plan is to BT from egg to RBS and then BT from egg to your current a/c remember that you need the EggMoney card and NOT the Egg card... very confusing .
