Multi trip USA holiday where's best...and cheapest!

Anyone have recommendations for a multi trip holiday in USA?

Wanting something like a 4 day to New York and then maybe Orlando for park, or LA for park for about 8 days.

It's to be in the school summer holidays, I know it will be more expensive but we're tied to it.

Anyone done anything like this can give me tips? Easier to book flights separate, or do a package from some site etc. I've booked numerous holidays myself so pretty confident.

It's 1078 miles from New York to Orlando 2790 miles New York to Orange County (Disneyland California) were you planning to drive or fly ?

Do you have a rough budget ?

Biggest expense is park passes which are very expensive 5 parks in Orlando versus 2 in California. Orlando is inland - did you want beach element included anywhere ?

Been to Orlando before, stayed on iDrive.

Not bothered on grade, basic as won't be in long, don't want rough area but room is for sleeping as be out all the time.

Don't want to drive if possible, haven't needed to before when been to Orlando for parks.

2A 2C (16 & 12).

UK hols, starting around 22nd July although flexible. Could fly from Scotland if cheaper when UK off.

As been to Orlando do be happy to other parks. Won't drive would fly. Not sure if other universal etc parks nearer NY?

Don't like quoting budget as then it becomes what people go to. Rather just get some prices. What do you roughly think will be?

You could have a lovely summer holiday visiting New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, without long internal flights and additional jet lag.

I would definitely but as kids are Park mad I've got to do this bit as well.

Not too bothered on the trek as we've do everything a few treks with trains, buses and planes etc.

Universal is near I Drive - plenty of other theme parks enroute NYC to Orlando so if you wanted a bit more adventure you could drive it and take in one or two -or even a couple of days at the beach in South Carolina or even a more northerly Florida beach like Melbourne Beach - then hit Kennedy Space Centre then on to Orlando. Alternatively fly to Northern Florida and drive down from there via beach and Kennedy. (no one way charges in Florida if you choose carefully)

Try looking at airfares from Dublin something like DUB NYC & MCO DUB even adding on the Ryanair flight to Dublin there's some big savings to be made (and probably no worse than driving to Scotland to catch a plane ) Use google flights or https://www.kayak.co.uk for the prices.

Often mid/late August is cheaper for transatlantic flights than July - and US schools go back earlier so hotels are better priced going later in the summer holidays too (and parks less crowded of course)

Price the domestic flight seperately on skyscanner

I rather like the suite hotels for Orlando -something like Embassy or Homewood - two seperate sleeping areas- rather than been in with the kids, proper kitchen and room to spread out .

One of my favourite meals in Orlando was the day we overdid the parks came home exhausted and I went through a meal delivery service and we had a full TGI dinner delivered without having to step out of the suite . In an ordinary room it would have been a bit cramped but with a proper table to eat at it was just what we needed .

Biggest budget buster is likely to be NYC hotels - Manhattan is very expensive - however if you are prepared to stay out of Manhattan itself it can be much cheaper and transportation is plentiful and cheap. Best to get more info about that on the NYC thread on here.

If you've done Orlando though you could do NYC and LA - you'd have Disney , Universal and Knottsberry Farm theme parks and could do Hollywood and a beach area too.

Flights are little more but Disneyland tends to work out cheaper than WDW as there is a lot of non Disney accomadation literally on the park's door step . Only 2 Disney parks -some of the rides are the same but some are different . California would give you more variety and potentially a bigger selection of theme parks and see other stuff too rather than Orlando's nothing but theme parks.

Have done both and preferred Disneyland to WDW. Parks are more 'manageable, more relaxed atmosphere, more 'Disney Magic' and felt less commercial/money-orientated (although I do realise that both are part of a huge corporate/commercial/money-making organisation)

How old are the children?
There's a Six Flags park close to the Connecticut/Massachusetts border, just south of Springfield (north of Hartford).
Would that satisfy their park requirements?
