Spending diaries .....

For the past week, I have been using a free website that was mentioned in a post on this forum to cacluate my daily spending.
I have never kept a spending diary, despite all my intentions to do so.
What an eye opener!!!!! and it's only been a week.
Way too much money spent on diet pepsi is the most claringly item. Problem is my hubby and I like it and the cans are very convenient.
I am probably preaching to the converted, but for anyone that hasn't started keeping a diary, it will well worth it.

Can you not get them in bulk on the cheap when you next go shopping?
My aunt got something like 3 8 packs for 3 quid from somewhere last week (sorry not more informative, it was a BBQ and i had one or 2 beers lol)0 -
i totally agree Becca! i have been using www.spendingdiary.com and have found it most enlightening!!! Trouble is i'm running out of categories!
Diet pop is my downfall too, but i tell myself that it's cheaper than fags! And multipacks work out at around 35-39p a can. I don't buy unless it's on BOGOF, or 2 six packs for £3. Plus my teabag and coffee expenditure is zero!
Plus i take a cool bag and ice pack thingy to work, so i'm only using the ones i take in with me, Not buying extra at 50p+ a can.
Is this a fizzy pop thread? Or a spending diary thread!?! Sorry for rambling!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
I used to also buy cans each week (the bottles go flat too quick). I decided to get Tescos own brand tropical and orange diet cans. A pack of 6 for 85p! Yes I know it isn't the caffiene which is probably what you are addicted to but they taste the same as drinks like lilt and you can't go past that price!
Also what I do if the diet drinks are on BOGOF, I buy a mix of my fave brand and the tescos own brand and we mix them up in the fridge. It makes the Coke last longer and sometimes it is nice to have a change.
however i would not recommend the own brand cola - yuk!0 -

I love spending diaries, They have totally changed my outlook on certain spending although I have to say I still sometimes give in to temptation.
With regards to your cans of Diet Pepsi its well worth looking around as at our Local Farm shop they were selling 18 Cans for £4.00. We also recently bought some other can drinks for my 30th Birthday at one of those Afro Carrivean stores (Near Bethnal green if you live in London) and as we brought around 20 cases it worked out at 17p a can.
We probally wont need to buy any more drink until Xmas mind lolOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts

Hi becc - which on-line diary do you use? I'm still using a paper diary, and the moozie/PaP challenge of course.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
