I have a feeling I'm going to lose my job

To cut a long story short, a few weeks ago everyone in my workplace all had to attend a group meeting to discuss the changes that had happened in the company and the changes that were going to come into force this year. There was talk of redundancies, hours being cut, job titles changing, etc.
Anyway today I received a letter in the post from my manager. It says I have to attend a 1 to 1 meeting with her next week. It basically says that the changes will affect my current position and may result in my position becoming redundant. It then goes on to say that my job role is at risk of redundancy.
Does that sound like there is a high chance that I will be made redundant? I haven't seen anyone else at work yet so I don't know if everyone has the same said in their letter.
I have a feeling that I'm going to lose my job and this is their way of warning me about it.:(

Don't panic yet, probably the whole of your department has had the same letter. Ask at work tomorrow?
A couple of years ago I was in the same position and everyone on my level (level 5) at work had the same letter. We all had individual interviews with our line managers. Then the managers got together and decided how many level 5s they needed. Yes, some people lost their jobs, but they were asked to move department and/or level so that no one was actually left without employment.
Good luck with it all and stay calm.I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea0 -
it will be what it will be, but dont be fearful, better things might be around the horizon
years ago, a company I worked for went into administration _ I was one of 101 people walked on the spot - I actually felt sorry for those who were not walked - their life got worse before it got better, and they all got walked eventually.
Just protect yourself now - update CV - update Linkedin and get active on job hunting just in case..0 -

Does the letter state anything about a consultation period??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

Same here, I worked for the Administrators for four weeks realising all the assets, went out and did some contracting work and expanded my skill set and now have a full time job I wouldn't have got otherwise. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0
