Expenses Question

I have roughly £2000 in expenses to claim for repairs to a property I rented out during the year 2014 - 2015.

The work was physically carried out during the tax year, but the company that carried out the work took a while to send me the invoice for payment. I made the payment on the 23/04/2015 so technically in the 2015 - 2016 tax year.

Is it ok for me to include these expenses on my self assessment for the year 2014 - 2015 given that the work was done during this year. The only reason the payment wasn't physically made during the 14 - 15 tax year was due to the builder talking too long to send me the invoice.
