  • Do your statements not show you repaying the incorrect amount back, or it being adjusted on another payslip? There are tax implications for you if your payslips aren't right - if my employer paid me incorrectly I would want paperwork which matched my earnings to be honest.

You've not said what the errors were. e.g. was it that they paid your expenses twice and it came to £50 or did they pay you 5 x what they should have - the type of error is relevant and people have asked you the question but you haven't answered it?

I work in payroll. I have seen errors happen before, sometimes we've taken over payrolls only to have to go and re-run the payroll for the entire year and submit the corrected information to the Revenue.

Why can this person not re-run your payroll correctly and provide you with the correct payslips?

The fact that my payslips were in order in the past does that count for anything?

The fact that you haven't answered my previous question speaks volumes. No lender is going to advance thousands of pounds to someone they don't trust.

And lenders don't trust anyone. Their working assumption is that you're a criminal, and it's up to you to prove that you're not.

The issue isn't just that the payslips were incorrect, it's that combined with the fact it is a family business. I'm pretty sure it is something that the network my company works through would take a dim view of.

As has been said, it is the adviser's livelihood at stake.

    Great point.

No doubt it's all completely circumstantial, but the fact it's a family business certainly wouldn't have helped... especially if the pay mixup inflated your income.

We had a client last year where a net payment on a regular salary was £8.45 different between one month and the next.

The attitude of the Lender was appalling, practically intimating that there was something fishy going on.

Brokers need to be very careful when presenting cases to lenders that don't add up. I suspect our poster's didn't.

All one has to do is provide a satisfactory explanation. Nothing more. Little point in making a big deal over what should be a straightforward matter. ;)
