One of my friends took up swimming every day when she retired and went from a size 20 to 8. She cut down in food too but she looks amazing. Glad the phone consultation went well - I guess this is the way forward for now.

That’s encouraging to hear SA. I’m building to 3 days next week  and onwards and upwards I hope......or hopefully downwards on the scales. I’m determined to get back into my silk dress I had for dds wedding. To say nothing of the health benefits as long as I don’t go giving myself anymore stress fractures 🤪
We had notification we’d need to retune our tv yesterday as they’ve tweeted the local tv mast. Dh has been fiddling all day, he’s usually savvy doing theses things and we can’t get half the channels  we used to, on any of the TVs - no bbc and a pixelating itv. We can watch through Now tv but I like the local news and Now tv  only gives the London news. So think we’ll have to get some work done on our tv arial tomorrow. Nobody else seems to be having a problem.
I've had a text from the builder saying he’s not forgotten us....at least that’s encouraging re kitchen alterations. I’m going to start packing and sorting the cupboards next week. I know he might not be doing it for a while yet but seems silly to waste my time off work and rush like mad when he’s ready. A lot of the things are only used occasionally and I suppose I could get rid of some - but it’s when all the family descend I need them. I’ll hang on for now and see how much space I have when it’s all done.....Goodness knows where I’m going to put everything as the dining room and kitchen need emptying 😱. It’s a through dining/living room and there are no other rooms downstairs. It’s going to be interesting  for a while 🙄😂 Here I am getting excited and we’ve not even had the quote yet......

For some reason the quote isn't working properly!
Before you get someone in - if the tuning was okay before it should be okay now - so - what was the weather like?  Try slightly overcast, no rain & certainly no thunder & lightning.  The weather here was perfect for my retune & I got a better picture than before.  Good luck!

Thanks bad memory - it was a bit temperamental beforehand to be honest and we only received some of the channels available which didn’t worry us too much as we have a Now tv box too. Dh chunnered and moaned at every pixel when it played up though😂😂....this tweak just finished it off. Anyway they have been and put a new arial and cables - it was more expensive than I’d expected but we’ve lived in this house over 35 years so didn’t owe us anything.....and dh paid... Problem sorted 👍
Another good SW day. Fingers crossed for my home weigh in tomorrow - hopefully I’ve done enough to claw last weekend back👍 It makes a difference having dh on board - no temptation.....not that I can always blame him 😂
Tomorrow we are going out with the relative in my bubble - not sure where to yet -  so will be taking a SW friendly picnic...that’ll be a first as I usually just take sandwiches or eat out.....not sure what’s got into me - long may it last 😇

Good idea to start the sorting out process now whilst you have time. I bet you'll find stuff to declutter once it's all in front of you!😀
Hope you had a lovely day out yesterday.

We had a lovely day yesterday - the only bit of let down was the weather. It was cooler than of late here but still a sunny day. So off we toddled to pick relative up, we decided to go a little further than usual and cross the hills to our neighbouring county - about a 2 hour journey. We got on the tops of the hills between the 2 counties and cloud descended and stayed over us for the rest of the day - there were even drops of rain.....it continued to be a gorgeous day at home. I was quite pleased for a break in the heat to be honest.
Anyway we headed to a place we’d never visited before - a beauty spot on the edge of a hill which overlooked one of the prettiest views I’ve seen in a long time. Had the cloud lifted it would have been even better. We went for a walk along the edge of the hillside, which was a really well kept, smooth path - saw gliders practising taking off and landing on the grassy airfield beside the path. There was a big white horse in the cliff side but we were too close to appreciate it - we saw it from the road on our way back and it was awesome. Then coming home we meandered through local villages and stopped for another short stroll along a river and crossed the hills back home on A roads instead of the motorway. A lovely day but I’m shattered today.
We had a phone call from person looking after the inheritance- all is going ok. The lastest decision the solicitors have come up with is to release the main body of money but hold the amount back that the financial advisors seem to think they should be able to claim in fees for doing absolutely nothing and trying to scam us 😡 Fingers crossed 🤞It’s certainly not a life changing amount but a much needed emergency fund for our retirement years.
I lost 3 1/2 lb.....now I need to keep it off  and repeat this weeks efforts - I’ve been here before many times 🙄

A rather worrying light has popped up on my dashboard so will have to book it in to the main dealership 😱just when things are bobbing along nicely along comes that spanner into the works.....
We had a trip to B&Q and a garden centre today. I’ve bought some pansies and cyclamen for the pots at the front which look a little  sad now the sweet peas have finished. I’ve decided to paint my decking/ramp to protect it over winter as we’re going to leave the little seating area I want but we can’t decide the best way to tackle it. I’d originally planned on painting it after we’d done this area. After we’ve had the building work done we will need to have the flags by the side of the house relaid as they’ll be putting new soil pipes in so will get the seating area levelled at the same time. Somebody who knows what they’re doing will have it done whilst dh is thinking about it. So that’s a couple of days sorted this week - planting pansies and painting decking. I’m quite enjoying my time at home. I miss the company from work but can usually amuse myself

Just had a message from my gym. They are closing for a deep clean as somebody had tested positive who visited yesterday. I haven’t visited since Thursday so should be ok. It has made me wonder whether to continue going for my swims. I do enjoy them and know the health benefits I’m gaining BUT is it worth the risk......

I was talking to dh last night about getting my cooker cleaned professionally before we get the work done in the kitchen so it doesn’t mess the new floor etc afterwards and then once done  I can keep it spick and span for the new kitchen. It’s only 3 years old but I’ve never cleaned my oven as I’ve been incapacitated a lot of that time between my spinal bleed and broken arm....and been unable to manage the oven.....( nothing stopping dh though 🙄) dh pipes up ‘ oh we’re entitled to a yearly clean with the cover plan’ - he swore he’d told me but I’m not convinced he did as I would NOT forget THAT as cleaning the cooker is my pet hate. So he pulled the paperwork out last night and low and behold we are......I’ve been online filling the forms in this morning. It says cleaning the outside and grills - no mention of the oven glass though so will see what happens and how long it takes them to get back to me.
So today is a paperwork and banking day......I can’t do my decking as it’s been raining all night. Wish I’d have done it ages ago instead of waiting to get seating area done.
