Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

I weighed myself yesterday and I’m back to where I was 2 1/2lb back on - pizza wine and ice cream plus everything else I succumbed to in the name of anniversary celebrations. Mr Milann has been piling on the lbs too.....he lost a lot several years ago when he’d had a health scare and he couldn’t drive for a while. It’s crept back on but he was in total denial....until he tried some shorts on he’d bought when he’d lost the weight. Let’s just say he’s no longer in denial - the truth hit home hard 😂😂🤣. Anyway he is on a mission so we should find it easier eating healthier together. The Michael’s Moseley new programme hit a nerve too. So a new start from today for us both.
We’ve had a couple of nice days out. We headed to a seaside town I used to go to after my hospital appointments. It’s on the outskirts of a busy well known resort but is much calmer with a pier and pretty gardens and waterfall that I and then my children used to love to walk behind. Anyway we parked on the edge of this resort which is on an estuary and walked toward the sea. They’ve just finished sea defences and it was a lovely walk - especially as the tide was in as it’s rather muddy otherwise. We looked over the estuary with binoculars to where we’d been last week then walked back. It was a tad too far in the heat though and I was shattered and had red blotches all over my legs. An early night was the order of the day. Yesterday I went to relative to do some jobs and then we had a ride into the countryside. The purple heather was beautiful as we drove through the hills. When we got to our destination to where the Dambusters used to practise- it was absolutely heaving- not a chance of parking anywhere. So we drove some more to an old railway line which is now a cycle/walking route. It takes you through a very long tunnel cut into the hills.....it opens up into a very picturesque valley. The tunnel was restored several years ago. I had a takeaway cuppa before heading back to relative’s for a Chinese takeaway. We’d have just eaten out pre COVID as there are a lot of country pubs around. Today is a lazy day 😀
The most I spent was petrol and £10 over the 2 days on ice creams and drinks as we took picnics from food we had in the house with us 😀 Relative bought the takeaway and we were in his car the 2nd day (we share a bubble) The furthest we travelled was an hour and half from home. As we’re not going away we are having days out 😀
The builder came....the work we want done is possible - just waiting for a quote to see how much it’ll cost. He’s quoting for the building work then they’ll be electrical work and a new kitchen and flooring to factor in 😱 Watch this space.......January spends - £587.584 -

More likely the shorts have shrunk!

RobM that’s what I said as my clothes were in the same wash.....if only 😂😂😂😂I’ve just painted the 2 small fence panels next door have cut to size. I gave them 1 coat and it’s so hot out there I’ve had to come back in. I’ll resume when it cools down a bit.January spends - £587.583

I really need to do something too but I seem to just be constantly eating things I should.
Glad that you have had a nice few days

I think most people have been treating themselves during this pandemic. It’s given us a feeling if life is too short etc. Fortunately a few tweaks and you’ll soon be on the straight and narrow. Sounds like you’ve had some trips out 😁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

We’ve had some lovely days out. All semi-local and we’ve taken picnics so saved an absolute bomb to what we’d usually spend. We couldn’t do them without a car though so I can appreciate your predicament of not being able to get out SA. We haven’t had a holiday other than to dds or a couple of weekends away in Premier Inns since we got rid of the caravan that’s 3 years ago. I’m missing Cornwall - I’m pleased I’ve had some weekends and dds to go to but I would love a couple of weeks somewhere to completely switch off. It won’t be this year sadly.
The fence panels are now 3 coats of paint better off and back in place - next door just picked them over his head and dropped them in - life must be much easier when you’re taller, fitter and 40 years younger than I am 💪😂
I’m feeling a tad bleugh as I should have my gks here now. So I’ve given myself the job of painting the sheds tomorrow. I feel the need to keep busy. There are 3 tool sheds by the side of the house that didn’t get painted when we did the fences in the back garden. I can’t go out to meet friends with this local lockdown so I might as well make myself useful whilst dh is at work. So this week I want to potter and tidy the garden up. I need B&Q to get some flags in so I can supervise dh making my little shady seating area - we only need 6 but they haven’t had any in at all. I have paint to do the decking and ramp outside the back doors but don’t want to do it until I’ve seen how it fits with this new seating area as it might need tweaking. Once that is done the garden will look better than it has in a long time. There’s usually a railway project on the go and something being dismantled and never completely put back as it was 🙄

Can you drop me a message or text and tell me where the railway tunnel is ?You will see the GKs soon I hope , I understand how you feel.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

Sunshine girl - I’ve text you 👍
Today I have been painting sheds virtually all day. At one point I thought there was going to be a thunder storm forecast for tomorrow as it went black but it passed over. Hopefully all 3 coats of paint will stay where it is supposed to be and not wash off if it rains..... There is now just a very small section left sort and paint - next door have said again they’ll do it for us - even though it’s not on their side and I’ll paint it.😀 I’m getting there - I should have stopped after the 2nd coat as I’d had enough but if it does rain as expected tomorrow I might never go back to it. So lazy day planned tomorrow as I have a very achey arm and leg.A NSD so far but I need to nip and get a card for dh boss - who became a proud daddy overnight.
I’ve just seen 2 pubs that have closed due to virus on my local news - they’re right close to where I work and I’ve been in them both many times - not recently though 😳January spends - £587.581 -
Glad that you got the painting done.
Lucky that you are not here as it would have washed off in the rain ☂⛈I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
