I haven’t been to a pub since lockdown, although we’re not big pub goers anyway. I was trying to stay away so I would be virus free for Ibiza, what a waste of time that was 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Oh dear sorry about your local lockdown Milann. You'd think seeing relatives would be safer than going to the pub 🙄.

It seems crazy - you can work with somebody all day but not meet outside work if you wanted to....I could work within a year group bubble of 60 children ( if school was open) and change my bubble to work within other bubbles - but not see my own 2 grandchildren. I could sit 2 meters away from a friend and chat outside my gate but not the same distance from the same friend in my garden. 🤔🤔🤔January spends - £587.581

I was totally cheesed off this morning as it doesn’t look as if I’ll be having my gks here for the week with this partial lockdown. It is what it is.
We went out for a drive and had a lovely day out - just what I needed. We drove to a seaside place just over an hour from here. There is a very long pier so we meandered along people watching, we sat and had a takeaway coffee looking over what is rumoured to be the sea. The tide goes out for miles and it looks as if you can walk over to a different seaside town much further around the coast. I know many folk have been caught out and needed rescuing trying to do so. We had binoculars in the bag so spent a good while spotting places we recognised on that coast. We walked along the marine lake - lots of families enjoying boat rides then had a drink in an outside pub where there was a Blues Brothers act on singing Motown classics. It felt normal....a lovely atmosphere, it was busy but we chose the quieter routes - but folk were distancing anyway.
Normally we’d have eaten out but I’d taken home made ready meals out for when we came home 😉 it’s saving me a fortune. I did spend £15 in Aldi stocking up on my way home and £25 in Matalan buying a couple of baby presents for a friends new granddaughter and another friends baby boy expected anytime now.January spends - £587.581 -
Glad that you had a lovely day

On your behalf I’m annoyed that you’re on this partial lockdown and can’t see your GKs but if you lived in Brighton or Bournemouth you’d be allowed to go on a crowded beach with a load of strangers. Where is the logic in that?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I am sorry to hear the GD's might not be coming, could you go to them and maybe have a seaside break with them somewhere . I went out walking a bit further up the coast tonight . My friend met me and we did a 4 mile walk, had sandwiches and a flask then walked back. That was allowed in an open space , actually enjoyed it. Your day sounded lovely as they always do. I was going to suggest a meet up until Boris kiboshed it , we will soon.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

It’s the absurd rules that have got me mad. If it was a complete shutdown or pubs/restaurants were closed It would be easy to accept. But I can do everything except go to or have someone to my house 😡There is a slim possibility I might go to dds but it’s the logistics. Dd won’t hear of me going on the train and I don’t do motorways. Their and dh work commitments aren’t lining up. We were having the children to help with their childcare as childminder on holiday as well as spending time together. The girls are desperate to spend time here - ‘helping’ relative still recovering 🥰 I’ll find out tomorrow exactly what is happening.
Ive had another lovely day. We revisited a place we went to several weeks ago. About an hour away. Instead of walking along the river overlooking Liverpool we walked in the opposite direction along the coastline of The Irish Sea. It was gorgeous - we spent a while watching windsurfers. We listened to waves crashing - walked a while again and then people watched. We took food and a drink with us and had a picnic then we walked a little bit back along the estuary before heading home to a shepherds pie which just needed reheating😀 We’d usually just eat out - but I’m being much more organised and saving a packet too. I’ve been off work a week but it feels as though I’ve been on holiday by going to different places and the furthest we’ve travelled from home is just over an hour. 😀 We do have some nice places around and about.
Next door have been sorting the small bit of fence out - I need to paint them now. There’s just 1 small piece at the back which needs looking at - it’s only about 18 inches wide - next door had said they’d do it even though it’s not on their side but he must have forgotten.....and I’m not pestering.
My friend who moved out of the avanue a couple of years ago moved back in yesterday 😀 I’m so pleased. She’d lived in the house all her life - looked after her parents - both with Alzheimer’s who then died within a short time of each other but the house needed to be sold to pay siblings off. Anyway she has managed to sort finances to buy it back 😀👍😀
We’ve just rebooked a meal in Tom Kerridge’s restaurant- I’d bought vouchers last Christmas for dh and ds but it was cancelled due to Covid. It’s not until September so hopefully it’ll be ok this time 🤞January spends - £587.583 -
How lovely that your friend has moved back in
