I went for another swim this morning. I felt very safe. The pool is divided into lanes - 2 for slow swimmers - which I go into- 1 medium and 1 fast lane. At most there have been 6 in and it went down to 3 people at one stage. I swam for half an hour both days 😀 I lost count but in the region of 20 lengths. It is scrupulously clean and the changing rooms has a lovely lady cleaning in there permanently- even under normal circumstances. I did miss my jacuzzi though which has been emptied.Dh was off today so when I got home I made sandwiches and we headed into Wales. A part just in Wales that I haven’t visited before, it’s just over an hour from home. We had a quick look in a big wool shop en route (I was VERY impressed with myself as I didn’t succumb to buying any😀😀) but I will definitely visit again though 😉. It’s a bit of a standing joke as I’ve wanted to visit this shop many times as we have a smaller one of their shops in town near me....but this one we passed today is their flagship, every time we pass it’s shut.....it’s on the way home from Wales if we come off the main drag which gets very busy. We had a bit of a walk along the coastal path near to the shop then drove on a bit further to our destination. We had a lovely walk along the beach I even paddled in the sea. Walking on the sand got to me though - my hip didn’t like walking on different textured surfaces and I resorted to extra painkillers but it was worth it.There is a static caravan site that I’ve seen advertised many times at this seaside place so we were looking at the ones for sale then had a meander around the site. One day IF our inheritance ever gets to us - it’s something we might consider. The site fees are expensive but since it’s not too far away I’m sure we’d use it to it’s full value. Ideally I’d want one in Cornwall but we’re too far away to do it justice.
I’m hoping the scales show a loss this week 16k steps and half and hour swimming is the most I’ve done in a looooong time 👍aaand my meals have been ok 😀January spends - £587.583 -
Thanks for the NS&I info - that’s the way I’m going to go with a small pension I’ve cashed in. I don’t want to get used to having it and it just going into the general funds.January spends - £587.583

Sounds like a lovely trip. I’ve never been to Wales despite having a Welsh grandfather and giving my DD a Welsh name. A long way for us though being on the east side of the country. A caravan would be fabulous.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

You did well with your swimming Milann and sound like you enjoyed it. Good to have exercise that you enjoy. The caravan idea is a good one and as you say if you use it a lot it will offset the fees. I know a couple with one and no-one sees them once summer sets in as they're always at their caravan. I loved the part of North Wales I went to with DD and her OH last year. DD actually was there last week climbing. Her photos of the scenery were gorgeous. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Fuming at inconsiderate folk and their mass gatherings.....back to not being able to meet with people in gardens or homes here.....I can still see relative I’ve been shopping and gardening for as we’re a bubble and I class said person as vulnerable.I haven’t heard from the builder and still presuming his visit will still go ahead as it’s his work and folk can still go to work.......watch this space. He will be the 2nd person to cross my doorstep since March.January spends - £587.582

Glad you had a good day out, DD is going to Wales this week , not far from Conway , that's if it's still allowed . The rules are very ambiguous and open to misinterpretation, but I shall keep to them as much as I can. Have a good weekend and I hope the builder turns up.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

SA It was a tad strange over the border - only just over an hour from home - the pubs were open for drinking outside - everyone appeared to be distancing but it didn’t look as if anyone was taking details for track and trace. We didn’t go in as we’d taken a picnic with us....and when we went in a shop for ice cream - no masks needed. It felt a bit strange totally different rules.....So I’ve sat in all day waiting for the builder. I messaged him at 4......he said he’d just got home and could we leave it until next week. I’m not impressed. He’s a friend of a friend and I’ve seen his work which looks good, so really I would prefer him as I know does a good job.....I’ll give him another chance then look elsewhere if he doesn’t show 😡😡😡What is it with some workmen.......I’d turned down an offer to go out for the day too!!!
Dh has to stay over working on a job a couple of hours away from home next week. I’ve just realised it’s out wedding anniversary - it’ll be the first time in 42 years I’ll not have woken up with him on our anniversary. We will have to celebrate another time. Not that we’d be going out for a meal this year though....January spends - £587.582 -
Sorry to hear your area has been hit by this semi lockdown. Sounds rather ambiguous though, you can go to the pub but not have family round? 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Don’t even got me going on that one SA.....all I want is to see my family from time to time - I’m not interested in pubs or anything else. Hope it doesn’t stop me from seeing my gks in a couple of weeks. The way we’ve apparently been blamed for misbehaving has annoyed me more than anything else- there’s been too much too soon as they’ve lifted restrictions and too many mass gatherings in my opinion. Everyone I know has followed the rules. The important thing is that we all stay virus free, I suppose.January spends - £587.582
