So it’s been a bit of a busy week. Work definitely interferes with my social life.... I was in work on Monday and Tuesday - training for the ‘new normal’ school then on Wednesday the children came in. I was expecting to be with a teacher who I like but is very loud...and I have to admit her voice grates after a while. I was expecting Yr 2 children who I don’t know.....anyway after last minute time table changes I’m now with a lovely gentle teacher who does a lot through drama and with a mixed class of years 4 and 5 - all whom I’ve worked with at some point - so I’m really happy with my lot. It’s very different and like a military procedure but so far so good. We have to go in earlier each day but finish at 12.15 on a Friday. It’s a much slower pace than I’m used to and it’s taking some getting used to - but I can live with that.
It’s  a bit of a shock to the system getting up early - I’ve been waking at about four and not going back to sleep properly in case I oversleep....I’m hoping it’ll sort itself soon.
Mse wise I got lots of yellow sticker items last night - a cooked chicken for £1 plus lots of veg and bread ranging from 5p to 30p. Put a smile on my face 🤪

It was lovely finishing at 12.15 today. Dh had brunch ready for when I got in and then we drove about 10 minutes to a different spot on the local river and walked a section I’ve not walked before. We found a lovely ice cream shop that was open for takeaway and I had a gorgeous Cornish ice cream - white chocolate and raspberry- wish I’d been eating it in Cornwall -  by the sea watching the waves crashing - I’d even risk the seagulls 😂😂 I’m stiff and sore now though - early night and a dose myself up me thinks.
I need to do a bit of housework in the morning and then going around to go for a walk with relative.
I’ve finished the cardigans for the gks and want to get them in the post tomorrow. I’ve started a little hooded jacket for somebody I know expecting a little boy in August. Wool from my stash - I’ve also crocheted a shawl - again with wool I had in. So it should be ok as a present I hope - they don’t know it hasn’t cost me anything.....but I paid for the wool at some point in the past.

Yesterday I went out in my protective family bubble with my ds and dh and had a ride to the local(ish) seaside. It’s an hours drive from ds house. We stayed away from the centre and went to a town a little further along from the main drag. They’ve spent millions doing the sea front up right along the coast and the water board a have made massive improvements. It was lovely. I’d expected a bit of a cloudy day but the sun shone down on us. We sat at a little concrete table and stools which are dotted along the sea defences and ate fish and chips followed by yet another ice cream. We had a short walk then retreated to the car for a drive along the 7 miles of the main seaside attraction to the opposite far end and had another short walk. The bonus was the loos were open 😳👍It was busy but not silly and folk were social distancing. The centre of the place is usually heaving and is a bit loud and gaudy - it was a bit surreal seeing most places with the shutters down and  all the famous attractions closed on a beautiful sunny day. I always avoid the centre and visit the areas either side of the big resort. We were all shattered.
Today I’d intended a big clean up of the house. It’s not too bad but a bit of spit and polish wouldn’t do it any harm. I got distracted and ended up going to B&Q then to Morrison’s.....I can’t get anything done when dh is home. We have been re-painting models for the garden and I’m making a  miniature Japanese Garden in a plant pot base with my azalea in a pot dropped into the tray. I do enjoy doing the modelling for the railway.
Pity I’m in work tomorrow - it does interfere with my fun 😂😂

I was so tired at work today- I had to stop myself falling asleep. We had a session playing on the school field and were the furthest possible distance from inside......the heavens opened and the thunder started. I’d taken my coat but left it in my car. I was like a little drowned rat and ended up sitting in my wet clothes for the rest of the day. Lesson learned - I’ll take my coat into work tomorrow
I’m still struggling to stay  awake so an early night for me
NSD today and payday which is always welcome.
