Can you register a second-hand Nespreso machine in the Nespresso club?

Before Christmas I purchased a new Nespresso machine, to take advantage of the discounted Nespresso pods. I have registered the machine on my (new) Nespresso club account and submitted my claim.
However, I don't really need the coffee machine (as I already have one) so am planning to gift it to my sister.
However, will she still be able to register it against her own (new) account. Am sure (well, I assume) that she can't and won't attempt to claim the discount against Nespresso pods.
But I don't even know if you can register a machine which has already previously been registered.
Don't even know if there is any advantage of registering a machine either - although they may perhaps give you some welcome offers.
From my sister's point of view, she will be receiving a brand new, unused coffee machine, so will probably attempt to register it.
(I will tell her that I have already claimed the discount against coffee pods, but don't know whether to advise her to register the machine or not.)
