Did feel a sense of relief as I left but now feel back on edge waiting for THE phone call.
Will I get a call beforehand telling me what time the actual interview will be? I can just see me walking round asda when someone rings me.

If it's anything like mine, the call will be a very quick (10-15min) contact to discuss salient points relating to assets that need dealing with, your bank account that you wish to keep and a brief overview of events leading up to BR. It was nothing to worry about and my OR didn't set the interview date during that phone call (but yours may?). That happened a week or 2 later for me.
I'd try and get somewhere quiet and make sure you have your forms in front of you. Also, do try not to get worked up; it really is only a quick fact finding mission at this stage.
You'll be fine.0 -
Well just had a phone call from the OR
He said just a quick call to take some details as he doesn't have my paperwork yet but judging from my answers he doesn't see a reason for a meeting but would send a letter with some form I had to sign and a date to call again. Took my bank details and said he would let them know he has no interest in the account. Asked for a brief reasons why I had got to where I was and the need for BR
So now I guess I wait for the letter and whatever form it is I need to fill in/sign or whatever - feel less nervous, he sounded calm, friendly but not overly so, just matter of fact really.0 -
Good stuff Daisy. You can relax a little now

It's made me worse I think. Suppose it's the thought of another phone call and what he will say/do
Just me though, I'm one of those people who feel guilty even when I've done nothing wrong, think I will sleep better tonight though

You're almost there now, just one more little hurdle to jump and you'll be on the home stretch. From what you've said, it sounds like your OR is a decent enough bloke and the key things to remember are:
- they've probably heard far far 'worse'
- you are NOT a criminal
- they are not there to judge you
- they are not there to punish you
Just be calm and be honest.0 -
Daisy2015,
To put your mind at rest, you are almost certainly NOT talking to the OR (the OR seems to only get personally involved with high profile cases, very naughty people, or those who have gone BR for a huge amount of money)
You will be likely talking to an Examiner - these are basically lowish grade civil servants (typical salary is around £31K apparently) who handle case processing paperwork . Obviously, you should still always be polite, courteous and cooperative with them - as they do have a little scope to make your life difficult.
But don't fall into the trap of thinking the person you are talking to is way above you in status and has demi-God powers. At the end of the day, you are just talking to an overworked, underpaid junior Civil Servant who would probably rather be doing something else instead.

Glad it went well it is such a relief isn't it? Whatever comes next will be easy compared to what you have gone through to make your decision.

A big hello to Daisy 2015 and all those on the forum who've given me just the boost I need. Going to court at 9.45 this morning and promised myself I'd go to bed early and be calm. As it is I've been up all night feeling alone and scared. I've nobody to come with me so all your uplifting and optimistic comments have helped make me feel a lot better. Even details like whether to staple forms or not, do weigh heavily when you're up against it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone but it's such a comfort to hear all your experiences and I do feel less alone. Thankyou and all the best on your journey.0

Good Luck mezzantezzas, you will be surprised at the help you get with the paperwork and the ease which it goes through.

mezzantezzas, good luck this morning. It'll be over before you know it! It's almost a month since I did it and the sense of relief is huge. Like you, I worried myself sick despite 99% of people saying to be calm. Having been through it, I am now one of those 99% of people!
