CPCS Card

Hi there
I've got Certificate of Training on Rough Terrain Telehandler issued by RTITB Accredited Training Organisation . I've worked on site (plant) more than 1,5 years and operating Telehandler daily. I'm looking to change job but new job requires CPCS card, which cost £675+VAT. ( costly..)
Does my job experience and Certificate of Training is enough for a new job? Or do I need to get CPCS card?
many thanks :)

If the the job says you need a CPCS card, then you probably need one. You could tell them you have your other qualifications, and see what they say, but be prepared for them to tell you you need a CPCS card.

Or find an employer who will pay for yours for you (my employer pays all my CSCS/IOSH/Licences/first aid training.)

I guess up until now, you have been lucky enough to work on sites where CSCS/CPCS cards are not needed and as such, have not had to undertake the training needed to do them.

If you had been unemployed and on JSA then you might have been able to get the JC to pay based on the offer of a job that requires a CPCS.

However as you are just looking to switch jobs, then I am afraid that you will just have to pay for the course. The main costs are actually the test fees.
