Hi,
We had our initial interview with the OR a few weeks ago, we havnt heard anything since apart from a letter informing us we could keep our car valued at about £600 , we are expecting to be given a BRU although it has not been mentioned yet by the OR, how long after the interview do they inform you that you are to be given a BRU? Thanks

How long is a piece of string question really.
What grounds for a BRU do you think applies?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks for your reply , we were made bankrupt by HMRC , So probably for neglecting tax affairs as I've seen a few people given a BRU for this reason , we simply couldn't afford an accountant to get things sorted out .0

Seen plenty of people made BR by HMRC and only a few given a BRU/O, so I would not assume that it's a given.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thank you , does it have to be given before the discharge date?0

Hi Djem
As I understand it the OR is expected to confirm any BRU prior to your discharge.
Please note that it is possible for a BRO to be made post-discharge, but the OR would first have had to apply to court for an "interim" BRO prior to discharge.
Hope that makes sense.
