I have been trying to get hold of Genius Energy in Solihull since xmas as my Solar System has stopped working, but none of the phones are being answered and the facebook and twitter account of Genius Energy has been taken down. In the end I called the salesman from genius who I got hold of on his mobile.(He has gone back to selling insurance lol. ) He told me that they have closed down and have set up again as a new company.

I also called mcs who where useless and not interested.

1.Anyone know what is happening?
2.Should I stop my payments to Shawbrooks as goods arent of merchantable wuality?
4.I cant find info in london Gazette, shouldnt liquidator have written to me?


PLEASE HELP.

This appears to be a repeat of the actions by the companies operating in the solar thermal 'industry' a few years back.


Company goes 'bust' and starts up the next day, in the same premises, with the same workforce and directors, with a new name. It is just not cost effective for liquidators or individuals to pursue or sue the old company.


Any loan company worth its salt would have the agreement between the house owner and themselves.

If you have a system problem then contact the loan company but don't stop making repayments.

What has gone wrong? Are they not generating at all or just not much? December and January are very low months for solar generation.

I have been trying to get contact genius energy as well. Did anybody sorted that problem with them ? Even if company change the name , they should contact with all customers to let them know. I have a system problem as well and don't know what to do. Insurance warranty saying that they can't make a deal with me cause the company is inactive at the moment.

I went today to see what's going on in Solihull. There is different company and they don't know anything about Genius Energy so my last option was to call Shawbrook. There were very helpful and at the minute they are take care of all customers from Genius Energy. So if anybody of you have a problem with solar panels just call them 03456506291

I put honest reviews showing what a bad company Genius Energy were after realising I had been misold the solar panels. But despite my honest reviews people still purchased solar panels and are now left in debt with no after care for the solar panels. I threatened to expose them through watch dog and the media as well as consumer sites and my £14 k loan was cancelled and I received £3 k back for all the payments I had made to Shawbrook Bank. Had they not been in the wrong then Genius Energy would have not cancelled my loan and not paid me my money back. I would advise you to google Consumer-reclaims and pursue a claim via them as they are handling a lot of Genius Energy claims for people I know who were misold solar panels. You can claim against Shawbrook Bank.

Hi,
I purchased solar panels in september last yr thru Green deal savings ltd. I complained in March this year as they were not generating what I was promised and as I took out finance with Shawbrook for just over £10K. I am struggling to make repayments.
I received very little contact from Green deal so passed my complaint to RECC, they have emailed today to say that Greendeal are no longer trading.
Anyone know if I can claim from the finance company Shawbrook and if so how or any other advice

just a question even I have same problem but also have you seen the interest rate how much you paying to Shaw brooks bank coz I called them after looking at my statement in 2years they said I have only paid 900 pound and rest is all interest I tried to genius energy but obviously they closed now any idea what should I do about that.
