hi
this may seem like a basic question but any advice is appreciated!
in a nutshell my deal is coming to an end shortly and the plan is to stay with nationwide and switch online to a new deal.
what I do want to do is increase my current balance of £164k to £180k and do a bit of consolidating with the difference.
so my question is........can I apply online for the higher amount and I guess once/if approved (this will be just under 80%LTV) that the difference in monies will be transferred to my account??
any help is appreciated

Apply for the additional borrowing not the higher amount.

I did consider doing that as in switching deal and then adding the difference.
do you think that would be the easier option??
