Hello all
This could be long I am afraid. I have been to court 6 months ago to keep my house but have not keepen up the repayments on the secured loan, I can't open any of my post as I am too scared, had my wages today in in my payslip money has been deducted straight from my wages for some debt but don't know what. Don't know what to do for the best if to go bankrupt but then that means loosing my home which I probably will anyway because of the secured loan. Any advice would be gratly appreciated.

Hi Lucy
Don't panic. I have only just joined this board so am not in a position to offer any advice, but they are brilliant and someone very helpful will be along.

What does it say on your payslip? If you'renot sure, ring your payroll dept tomorrow and ask them wat its for.
Don't be scared to open your bills - the best way to start helping yourself is to know what you're dealing with. If necessary, take all the letters to the Citizen's advice and get them to help you work out what to do next. You can't start to sort it out until you face it. Obvioulsy your first priority is to try andkeep the house, and it sonds like you need to move fast.
Once you've done that, tghis site will give you loads of tips for saving money and reducing debt. Good luck, keep us posted.

Right, first thing to do is not bury head in sand. Open all the mail and compile a list of what's happening and try to work out what is owed and what is being payed.
It won't be so bad once you've faced up to it.Happy chappy0 -
Your deduction from wages will probably be an attachment of earnings. If the amount being deducted is too high you can ask for it to be lowered. As Spendaholic says find out what it is for (your payroll dept will have the court reference as well) xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Hi and welcome to DFW! As others have said, it really is better to face the figures. Sit down, have a cuppa and just think about how good things are going to be. It'll be tough, but you will get there! Get your numbers together and keep posting!

Thanks for the replies
Can't get in touch with the payroll department as I work in a small place where everyone knows everyone and I would find it too embarrising. I know I should be opening my post and I am going to try and start doing this. I have been to the CAB but they have given up on me I am not very good at coming to terms with the debt I have got myself into.
I really don't want to loose my house as I love where I live it is only a 1 bedroomed bungalow but I love it.
If I get in touch with the secured loan people do you think it will stop the courts again?
Could I do an IVA?
Thanks again for your help.0 -
Before anyone can discuss your options - be that the bank or us - you need to open your post and see the extent of what you are facing. Only then can you go to the bank with plans for keeping your home. Have no idea about an IVA, sorry. If you open your post, there will probably be something there which explains the deduction from your wages and what it relates to.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

As stated above you really need to post a full SOA, but to honest from the way you write in this post I'm not sure you've actually has your LBM. This is essential as if you can't come to terms with what you owe and WHO you owe it to people cannot help. You've com to the right place to sort out the debts though the supprot you'll receive is brilliant
