Errm, you need to be careful with your comments.
Imagine if I was an employee for FADV and you said:
"These FADV guys look proper amateurs and unprofessionals? My future career is up to these incompetent persons!"
on a public forum... Would I be happy?
Particularly when part of the delay was because you haven't kept any of your study documentation to prove where you were.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000 -
Thank you for informing me that my incapability of proving evidence on what I was doing in an almost fully unemployed country the first few months after my graduation was responsible for the delay!
I didnt knew that I had to find a job immediately in a totally broken society, otherwise some background screening company may think that I have been in prison or selling drugs.
From now on I will also type in my CV
"I was enrolled in a PhD for 5 months which I failed to complete"
Thanks God they are capable of informing me spontaneously that I have not signed what they are supposed to sign themselves (according to their instructions) and we are not delaying further!

Indeed, OP has published more than enough details to identify himself should FADV become aware of this thread.0 -
I already understood you dont want me in your country! And its understandable!
Why are you making this personal I still find hard to get it!
I published just for some advice and you are posting all the time to accuse me of being irresponsible.
Please give me a break.Indeed, OP has published more than enough details to identify himself should FADV become aware of this thread.0 -

I have no objection to you being in the UK. You might be thinking of another poster there, I've said nothing of the sort.
What people are trying to tell you is, the information you have posted here could get your job offer withdrawn. You need to be more careful what you are posting in the public arena.0 -
If you think that my post was in order to accuse them you are wrong! I just needed some advice. Now I got it!
I am just saying that are not as perfect as you think.
I already told you that on the net you can find lots of extremely negative reviews regarding them. Really much worst comments than mine. Just google for "FDAV reviews yelp"
Threaten a person to loose his job which he is trying hard to get the last 5 months is not so moral I think.
Btw if I accused you for wrong reason I am sorry, I am brand new on this forum and do not remember by name who is writing what.
Anyway Thank you and everyone else.
I have to find a way to prove this PhD stuff now...I have no objection to you being in the UK. You might be thinking of another poster there, I've said nothing of the sort.

I have no qualms with you working in the uk! Hell I taught english in poland for a bit...
The thing is that you are getting a break! That's what is most annoying about your post.... please just get your paperwork in order and be thankgul for the opportunity you have.0 -
To get this back on track...
I've dealt with FADV as a provider (used to work in HR) for a few years. They can be a bit jobsworth but equally, it is possible to get them to flex for unusual situations, such as the OP's.
re: PhD - yes, you will need to account for this time. The Registrar of the Uni concerned will be able to provide proof that you were registered for the PhD, even if you didn't complete. You'll need to write to them; your signature is important for data privacy compliance from their side.
re: working in PL. If you can provide payslips, a contract, job offer or similar on the company's headed paper then this is usually satisfactory for FADV's purposes.
If it all really gets stuck (and I've seen it happen) talk NICELY to the HR dept of your future employer. I promise, you won't be the first (or, sadly last) person to fall foul of the process. The HR team are likely empowered to use their discretion where there are unusual situations.
Good luck in the new job!0 -
OP, you do realise that your employer is not the only client of this company don't you? And that they will be checking numerous people - most of them without complications? It would seem to be in your own interests to cooperate with them and supply them with details as requested, instead of deciding for yourself that periods of time that are unaccounted for are not relevant. If they didn't check, they would be failing in their duty to their client - who is paying them to make thorough checks.
Even if you don't know the details of how background checks are carried out in the UK (and I doubt if they are much different to other counties in the developed world), you are not being asked to understand, you are just being asked to provide evidence. Why that is a problem, I'm not sure. If you want to work over here, then surely you realise that you are subject to whatever checks are required by your employer. Requesting a full history of employment - or what you were doing when not employed - is a standard question. You need to be able to provide proof because your employer needs to know that it is the truth.
I know that these things can take time, but your case is complicated by the disclosure company needing to check details in other countries, and waiting for those countries to return any requested details. You can help them, and yourself, by giving as much information as possible. In addition, there are language barriers as some documents may need to be translated from Greek or Polish - which again, takes time.
If the bank ask FADV why things are taking so long, and they reply that you are uncooperative in supplying requested information, I can't see the bank being very impressed.0
