Easy Money from TCB

Options
Hello fellow DFW's,

Thanks to many of the good people posting on the thread 'What little money saving things will you be doing today' my interest in cashback sites has been renewed over the last couple of months. It's saved me approx £50 on Christmas shopping.

I just wanted to let people know my experience of TCB and a recent deal they had (have) on with regards to a site offering cashback.

I have always been skeptical with regards to the gambling websites cashback deals often offering in the range of £50 for £20 deposit/play. Martins advice being in the back of my mind - 'what's the catch? It sounds too good to be true', so I never really bothered with them.

On the 23rd Dec I clicked through to 'Booty Pirates' deposited £10 and within an hour £30 cashback was tracking on my TCB account. Today the cashback has finally been paid into my account.

So basically £20 for free! Certainly welcome on my budgeting spreadsheet this month!

I'm sure a lot of people already know about this already but I just wanted to share my experience.

Here's a cheeky referral link if you are not yet a member and want to check it out topcashback.co.uk/ref/Leebo871

Cheers, Lee

Referals should be posted in the referals board, not the DFW.

The 'catch' is that no cashback is guaranteed. It might not track properly and never get paid out, so it's always a bit of a gamble if you are spending money purely to gain the cashback and not because it's something you were going to buy anyway.

Gambling (on cashback payouts) is probably not a particularly wise strategy for someone trying to get out of debt.

Do you need to put your credit card number. If so did you read carefully every page which is presented to you ?. If not good luck then, let hope that they are not setting up a continuous payment authority (e.g recurrent payment) without you realizing it and they will be using a sneaky way to take out your money.

Gambling and !!!!!! sites are notoriously known for this sort of thing.

I've joined a whole host of gambling and betting sites (for matched betting, not that it's relevant) and none of them have ever set up a recurring payment. At best (worst?) they will store your card details to make future deposits easier/faster, but I've never come across one that takes any money automatically.

!!!!!! is a different matter entirely, and as far as I am aware those type of sites aren't on TCB, so I'm not entirely sure how they are relevant anyway.
