Interesting thoughts about spending as an 'addiction'

I know some of us see spending as an 'addiction', when we are happy, sad, bored, lonely, scared etc etc, we reach for the credit cards and see shopping as an 'escape' - I know I have done in the past.
I was just having a look at Video Jug and found this section of clips about behavioural addiction (of any type, not just spending but I thought the theories apply to some of us)

I thought some of what he said was quite interesting and useful, he talks about taking one day at a time, strengthening resolve to strengthen 'recovery', whether to do 'little steps' or to really take the plunge.
Some bits probably aren't relevant to everyone and/or spending as an 'addiction', but I thought some of what he said was quite interesting to hear.
