New bankrupt bank account questions

Hi all, I was made bankrupt on Thursday , spoke to OR afterwards and was given a date for a telephone interview with OR. The initial conversation just checked bank account details and I presumed that all accounts would be at least frozen really quickly but as of today nearly a week later all accounts are still active - so my question is when will they be frozen and then closed or when will a bank let me know if I keep using an account?
Yesterday I opened a basic account with Yorkshire bank but I'm worried that the OR or whoever hasn't updated my credit file and the Yorkshire didn't know I was bankrupt (wasn't asked in application ). Just before going bankrupt I opened a Nationwide and a Barclays but have heard nothing about being allowed to keep using them - am I just being impatient ?

Think you might be being impatient :-)
The OR does not rush to do things, personally would get DD's Standing orders and wages all sorted into the Barclays account as they are not going to close the account and if you show statements to the OR for this account he/she will not have any interest in it so leave it alone.
The OR will not even start to do anything until after the telephone interview, it was a good month before I got letters from banks shutting accountsevery time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.0 -
Ok thank you I am impatient

Are you sure about Barclays I had £10,000 of debt with a barclaycard , never had an account before this one. I'm not even sure she opened a basic account because it had Internet and mobile banking with it and I read you don't get that with their basic account?
So could it also be possible that Yorkshire bank don't actually know I'm bankrupt then?0 -
In my case the OR asked me during the phone interview which account I wanted to keep, and said the others plus any building society accounts would be closed as I was only allowed one account.
I'd opened a basic account with Barclays prior to my bankruptcy and at first I had mobile telephone banking but after a week or two this was shut off, however I've still got access to online banking.0 -
Banks are Banks, they really don't care where the money comes from, you can open the basic account with Telephone and internet banking but this will be shut down when they learn of your BR, have no idea why a BR is not allowed internet banking.every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.0

Hi, I went BR in Jan 14 and was with HSBC for my current account. As I knew I was going BR I opened a Barclays basic account and even though I told them I was going BR the next day, and owed Barclaycard nearly £20k, they were fine to open it. I told the OR that that was the account I would be keeping and they were fine - they still hadn't closed a Lloyds account I had 2 years later! I ended up going into Lloyds with BR order and Discharge doc and they've finally closed it (they were the only account in credit!). Anyway, good luck with things - it's a really difficult thing to do but once done the relief is immense, even though it's a long slog - I am still on an IPA for another 18 months...0
