Deposit amounts

With the average deposit now being £30k (this is the whole amount of my mortgage just 25 years ago for a 3 bed semi), will the average deposit in 25 years be the current average purchase price again?? have things shot up quickly in this 25 years, or is this typical??

As an ftb of a tiny vitorian 2 bed terrace not in London 15 years ago my 20% deposit was 30k, incomes were a lot lower in those days so it was harder to save it than it would be now.

(On the other hand that 30k would only get you a 6% deposit on the house I bought in 2001).
    I think....

Me and my Partner just brought a property with a 80K deposit which was just over 30% of the property price. Prices have shot up in my area I spotted one property that was marketed at £195,000 two years ago and this week it's on for £230,000, clearly they must be having a laugh.
