Monetising Old Website

I have been running a fantasy f1 website for about 7 years now and it has been getting steadily busier. Last year I had around 250k visitors (UV) and almost 700k page views. I realise this isn't huge but I only made around £100 all year from advertising and affiliates, I think this is pretty poor. I am asking now as the F1 season starts in about 2 months time and it will then get busy again, I expect this year to be my busiest ever as the site is ranking higher on Google than ever.
It may be the topic doesn't lend itself well to generating an income as the site is 100% free to play but I wonder if I should be looking at different income streams? Currently Google Ads and Amazon are the main ones.
Just keep this quiet or Bernie Ecclestone might sue me ;-)
I set the site up just as a hobby to see if I could do it and never dreamed of making any income from it. But over the years I've spent hundreds of hours working on it and the domain and hosting fees add up so why not make a bit of cash?
I don't expect to make thousands of pounds from this but perhaps £2-300 would be more reasonable?
