68 yrs old - Need to remortgage....Please Help!

Hi this is all new to me but thought i would give it a try.

I am 68 and have a pension of £68000 a year and i am wanting to remortgage my house for £250,000 the house is valued at £300,000. Every website i try, all have age range restrictions. If anyone has any information for over 65 pensions that would be much appreciated.

Are you increasing the current mortgage amount? If so, what is the reason?

There are several lenders that could look at the mortgage for you, but it will depend on your circumstances. Your income is plenty (assuming no other debts) to support the mortgage

This has been answered on other threads so try a search, but to briefly respond (my dinner is ready !) There are plenty of lenders (including High Street names) which would be able to do this without too much trouble.

Looking around on the internet is really a waste of time for mortgages as most of the 'devil is in the detail', and as you have found, until you look into it in fairly thorough detail, you only find out at a later time that you were not elegible in the first place !

Any broker worth their salt should be able to place this fairly quickly, so my advice would be to kick the net into touch and speak to a broker who knows what they are on about.

Like Leon says, try a broker but if you must do it yourself the Halifax, Abbey and Nationwide would all look at this.
