how long does it take for things to show as settled on credit report?

Hi all

does anyone have any idea how long it takes for things to show as settled on your credit report, I cleared a bit of debt about 6 weeks ago but they are all still showing on my report even though an update was done fairly recently

Are debt collection agents just slack at telling the likes of experian or is it up to me to inform them?

Hiya! It normally takes a couple of months or so. I think lenders tend to send updates to the credit reference agencies once a month, so if your payment just missed one update, it wont get updated until the following month. If after a couple of months it is still not showing as satisfied, then perhaps query it with them.
