BR being moved to an IP???

Afternoon,

I've just had a phone call that my BR is being moved to an IP due to one of the creditors requesting this?

What will this entail as I have an IPA of £370 a month so will they again ask me to do a income and expenditure with them.

My wife earns £400 a month which is her own money to live on for the month. Can they scrutinise this or am I right in saying as she has not declared BR she cannot be touched and dragged into my mess?

Any advice would be grateful.

Regards

  • The name of the IP taking over my BR is Grant Thornton. Has anyone had any dealings with them?
  • I'm not 100% but I thought if married they'd access both incomes and expenditure.

When i started my IPA that's what the OR who worked out my spare money told me. As I was in a relationship not married they asked for his 50% share of utilities as an income to increase the IPA amount payable.

The company I pay to is Clarke Willmot. They eventually seem to be the only ones you deal with especially after the 1st year following bankruptcy.
  • Hi thanks for getting back to me.

I pay my IPA to Clarke wilmott at the moment but not sure if it will transfer to Grant Thornton.

As I'm the only one BR my wife's assets cannot be touched and she makes a contribution towards bills and utilities.

Just wondering if anyone has dealt with Grant Thornton at all?
