2 Reasons to miss the good weather of summer

My partner and me looked forward to some time off end of this month, last week on planning a nice scenic day out, he found an error on his Olympus camera that wasn't even a year old!
It was the memory card so we assumed that had crashed, being a bit short of cash I got a new one from Argos on the card (to be paid off shortly when all the debts are being cleared once and for all!) and found that didn't work either.
Digging out the receipt which was almost illegible the ink was none existant, we took it back to Curry's were we had purchased it. After the obvious questions they accepted there was a fault and now instead of just a replacement, we have been sitting in the house on 2 occasions waiting for DHL to come pick it up.
Today is the 3rd day and they have promised someone to come by after 2 this afternoon, nearly an hour guys and still no sign but i'll be patient one more time
What happed to the days when if something was faulty we'd get an instant replacement or a refund? I have no gripes in the camera getting sent away but why can't the shop be responsible for that, not only have we wasted a chance of some good summer photos, now we lost the days out waiting about too.
That was gripe number 1, number 2! Sunday week we had a panel on our door smashed thanks to a stone throwing event hosted by kids in the street that don't even live there!! That stressful moment aside, we contacted the company who installed the double glazing, Woburn Windows, to get the pane replaced.
Its took them one week to get sizes, the last call was to ask what panel it was to be fitted into, now why didn't they just ask that in the first place?
We was told to ring on Bank Hol monday and the fitter would let us know when he would come out and do the job, we were told yesterday,(tues) as it happened this was the 2nd DHL day we were sitting in waiting for...
No show!
I rang this morning and asked to speak to the guy dealing with this, he was busy on a call so he'd call back... still waiting...
If anyone out there can recommend someone who can sort this out for us, asap i'd be grateful as i'm wearing thin on patience.
The moral here is to ask if anything gets broken, whats the waiting time for replacements in either case...
Hope everyone else enjoys the summer, i'll have to settle for my back yard! And Promise my little boy a day out in the halloween break!

Today they rang us at short notice to say they could come this afternoon to fit, I agreed, looking at the weather, they turned up about 3 giving us time to do our shopping, that was nice. We paid them cash for the window and they couldn't even give us a receipt, so we rang them up to confirm there would be one in the post so we can get the bill sorted out with the neighbour. Why does it take so long to replace one pane of double glazing?More importantly why does it cost so ruddy much too ha ha0
