I have just started a DMP with StepChange. They've held off on adding my Santander overdraft to it until I get my new bank account set up complete. Just a thought though, so SC have agreed to add my Santander overdraft to my DMP - does it matter that my mortgage is with Santander also? If they wanted to could they add my overdraft to what's owed on my mortgage? (I'm thinking not but just want to double check)
Thanks for any help
Thanks for any help

Hi,
I don't think it's possible to add an overdraught debt to a mortgage.
Once your DMP is up and running, there should be no problems, the OD will just be another debt to service.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I had an overdraft, credit cards, a loan and my mortgage with Santander. I still have my mortgage with them, this is treated totally separate and everything else was added to my DMP.
I haven't had any issues with the mortgage or the overdraft;)

I had a credit card with Santander , and a bank account .my mortgage is with Santander . I had an overdraft on my Barclays ac!!!!.
I still have Santander mortgage but once I started my dmp I closed my Barclays account and Santander Acct .
My overdraft and credit card was added to the debt .0 -
I would be fairly sure that there would be repercussions for any bank who unilaterally decided to convert unsecured debts into secured debts.0
