Watch out for Lucas Credit Services!

I have been paying a debt back through "dlc" for a couple of years now(monthly DD) & yesterday I received a letter from Lucas Credit Services about the same debt basically saying debt still outstanding/no payments made & pay within 30 days or threat, threat, threat!

The debt is for car finance with Welcome which is now Hillesden Securities Ltd & dlc is a trading name of Hillesden. So I don't know how Lucas got hold of it as I'm up to date with payments & even received a letter from dlc thanking me for my continued payments.
I have emailed both company's & await their response. Is there any thing else I need to do? Thanks

    Hi,
It could be one of those idiosyncrasy's, where the debts owner has assigned the account, wrongly, to another DCA, happens a lot.

Or its been sold on, without telling you.

You have done the right thing by emailing them, I would await there response.

Thanks. I have had one response so far.

"Thank you for your email the contents of which have been duly noted.

We have raised your issues with our client and await their response. All collection activity is currently suspended on your account and we shall be in touch shortly.

We trust this clarifies the situation.

    Yours sincerely

Update. dlc asked for copy of Lucas letter to be emailed to them. It now appears that the debt was in joint names with hubby. Lucas picked up the debt on my name?? but failed to do any further checks. dlc have contacted Lucas. I have received an email from Lucas shown below.

"We refer to your recent email the contents of which have been duly noted and raised with our client.

They have now confirmed that payments are being made to this account and the account is in joint names. Given that the payment is a joint payment, we have been asked to cease our collection activity and your account has now been closed and returned to our client.

We trust this information is satisfactory.

    Yours sincerely

Not really an apology, seem to be passing the buck back to Hillesden/dlc,but they tell me it was never passed/sold to Lucas. At least it sorted.
