I agree with the others - get rid of Very, and Littlewoods - store cards and catalogues are a ridiculous thing to have.
Secondly start budgeting. So rather than 'yay I can put my car repairs on credit card' you ought to be thinking 'I'll save up to have my car fixed'.
You have to realise that credit isn't free money - it's an expensive way to pay for things. A grown up budgets, not borrows.

Just replace the word credit with the word debt.
I am applying for and using a debt card. With a debt of £---- on it.
You are so spot on. I'm calling the filthy things 'debt cards' from now on.

I want to tahnk you all so much for your replies on this, it is so much appreciated that time has been taken. And I really appreciate everybody's honesty and advice with this (I still don't talk to anybody I know about my finances)
It almost feels like a parent's advice and to have it from people that fully understand is certainly appreciated!
I will close the catalog accounts but I have to say while the Barclaycard is 0% I will have to get the car fixed but that's all!
I promise I will be sensible as when I was struggling before I was suicidal and attempted 3 times to take my own life (I am so thankful that I failed at that I'll be honest). And that is the lowest I have ever been and would never ever get that low again.
Again thank you so much for all your repleis and advice, I am so grateful0 -
Thanks for taking the advice in the spirit it was intended (I know it can get a bit intense around here sometimes but it is because people really do care).
Well done on getting the catalogues closed, it really is the sensible thing to do. Get yourself debt free and then save up a nice little pot for occasional treats and splurges and another pot for emergencies. Take it from me, when you start doing stuff like that, then you really do start to feel good0
