Hi - Please could any business rate "expert" advise.
I understand to qualify for small business rate relief you can not have more than one property - in our situation my wife has a shop at one end of the town selling gifts - we are business partners but it is my wife's shop - I have a shop about 1/2 a mile away selling gent's clothing. This is run as a limited company with as each of us a director of the company. Do we each qualify for SBRR as they are two separate businesses?
Thank you for your help.

I know they're unlikely to be available over the weekend, but my first step would be to ask my accountant ... if no-one replies from a position of knowledge that would be my advice.Signature removed for peace of mind0

If the businesses are separate then you should both qualify for the small business relief, it isnt limited to one business only but is cumulative on the rateable value. I think the limit for 100% relief is RV 6000 in England. I work in Scotland the 100% limit is RV10000
if I can help some more please ask
