Finally looked at my Debts -OMG

I have been reading the posts on this site for a few days and was finally inspired to take a long look at my finances. I have done the financial planner and will start on Friday (PAYDAY WOOHOO!!). As you can see from my signature I have huge debts - most of which nobody else knows about including my husband. Although I owe loads I know I can pay this off. I aim to be debt free in 4 years -31/08/20011.

Keep inspiring us all to tackle this head on.

Hi,

One of the disadvantages about not telling your husband is that he is likely to keep spending as if he had no debt.

If he is responsible for part of the debt (and his money is going towards it)
then he really has a right to know. If you don't tell him then it's likely he will stumble across it sooner or later anyway.

Are you managing to decrease the debt or is it still going up? If it is then you're probably still overspending. You could try shifting your debts around to different cards so you pay less interest or ask your credit card companies if they'd consider dropping your interest rate.

whatsthecost.com have a snowball calculator where you enter the details of your debt and it tells you how long it will take you to get debt free if you pay the stated figure each month and don't add to the debt. Also, it tells you the best order to pay off your debt so that it's paid off faster and you pay less interest.

Sorry to go off the important subject of this thread, but I have tried this web address for the snowball calculator several times every day, by different methods and my unternet keeps saying there is an error with the webaddress. Any one enlighten me, desperate to have a go at it???

Wow, that is a seriously far off debt date, that's 18004 years away!;)
