I thought it was pretty awful, some of the contributors came across as lowlife spongers, raised my blood pressure! But, as it was Radio Ulster, the standard was around what was expected.......

The swearing should have been bleeped as it took away from rather than added to the programme. One woman in particular (overweight one sitting with her overweight friend moaning about their benefits) seemed to be using the f word every 5 minutes just for the h*ll of it.

Yea. Fat chance of that, I'm afraid.

Not a fan of Nolan. From the comments here, and the continuous trailers on the telly, it looks as if I missed absolutely nothing in his latest tv offering. IMHO he always fancied himself as the Jeremy Paxman of N Ireland. Now he seems to be aiming to be the Jeremy Kyle of N Ireland! I always listen to the local radio news at 9am on BBC Radio Ulster after which the Nolan Show starts. It seems that his show is more often fronted by other presenters than it is by him. I tend to agree with Ticked about standards. What a shame though!

What's particularly annoying about Nolan is that on 5 Live he's actually quite good, but on Radio Ulster, he really goes for the lowest common denominator. (I suspect the fact he has different producers on each may have an influence there...)

Likewise on Radio Face. Utter tripe.

I couldn't agree more. Well said. I sometimes hear 5 Live after midnight, and I have remarked many times about his presenting there compared with here. Anything goes here. He doesn't do dog poo, he doesn't do bins and recycling, I'm not well today, who can help me with this, that and the other. As said, probably the different producers on 5 Live. The Mainland UK audience wouldn't put up with him if he was as puerile there as he is here.

Forced myself to watch the first 10 minutes tonight. This is local tv at its absolute worst, even for BBC NI this is dreadful stuff featuring lowlifes who don't deserve the oxygen of publicity.
