In marks cafe they used to have a green loyalty card which they stamped every time you bought a hot drink. When you got 10 stamps you could convert your card into a free hot drink - I got these 3 or 4 times a year and I got a luxury hot chocolate.

They have now abandoned that scheme last Tuesday - no warning to staff or customers. Now what happens is you just scan your Marks sparks card. If you are in the midst of completing a green card they will still put a stamp on your current card but you won't get a replacement when its full. There is no time limit on using your completed green card - but I will be using mine up ASAP

A few issues with this - there is no prompt on the tills so the staff don't always remember to ask for it and if you forget then you can't get your sparks card scanned retrospectively

I know when I've been in, caf!s up and down the country there seemed to be high usage of the green loyalty cards. I can imagine some people making a very careful note of how many coffees they have and then there will be bitter complaints if they don't get an email from sparks giving them their next one free after number 10
